Janella D. Lopez is an associate attorney at Orshan, Spann & Fernandez-Mesa, admitted to practice law in Florida, where she practices exclusively in the area of marital and family law. She is a member of the Florida Bar's Family Law Section. Ms. Lopez earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University College of Law, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and international Relations, also cum laude, from Florida International University.
Before joining Orshan, Spann & Fernandez-Mesa, Ms. Lopez practiced family and marital law at another respected Miami firm. During law school, she served as Comments Editor of the St. Thomas Law Review and as a judicial intern in the Family Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, and she clerked at a family law firm representing high-net-worth and high-profile clients in divorce and paternity matters. Her academic record includes multiple CALI Awards of Excellence in subjects ranging from alternative dispute resolution to appellate advocacy.
Ms. Lopez dedicates her practice to marital and family law, including divorce, child custody and timesharing, alimony, child support, paternity, modifications, and marital agreements. She is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
